• Re: MOSS User Profile Service Issue

I've got a little bit more information on this, so I'd appreciated any guidance anyone could provide. After some experimentation it appears that the call to GetUserProfileByName doesn't work for specific users in our Active Directory.  We've got a complicated AD setup with a central AD domain controller and many other domain ...

  • Re: MOSS User Profile Service Issue

Anybody got any ideas on this? I'm trying to retrieve another user's profile.  The GetUserProfileByName web service works if I specify the username as domain\username, but it won't work if I only specify the username. It comes back with an error indicating the specified user could not be found. I've had this working in ...

  • Re: MOSS User Profile Service Issue

Thanks for the reply.  I wasn't aware the user profile wasn't created until the user accesses the site.  I always thought that once it was in the SSP, it was in the user profile database and therefore should be available using the UserProfileService.asmx. I've since done some more investigation with this and found that if I ...

  • MOSS User Profile Service Issue

I'm using MOSS 2007 with SP2 and FEB 2010 CU applied.  We've set up a server farm and we have a site collection hosting Infopath forms. I'm trying to use the MOSS user profile service and specifically the GetUserProfileByName web service method to get a user's display name and email address.  Unfortunately  I'm ...

  • SharePoint Site Content Types

Hi, We're working on a project to convert some web-based forms to InfoPath and are struggling with some deployment issues. We're happy with the process for publishing the form templates to SharePoint and have decided to use site content types for this, publishing the form templates directly from within InfoPath designer.  We save ...

  • Re: Form submit (sharepoint & email)

Yep that would be another option. I'd previously tried this in my environment and it worked pretty well. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages though and for this option the disadvantage is that the Sharepoint site would have to deal with double the number of form submissions, so I'm not sure its the best option for ...

  • Re: Form submit (sharepoint & email)

Thanks for the info. I can see how that would work and it sounds very similar to the way I proposed in the original post i.e.
One possibility I can think of is sending the email first then submitting to sharepoint, so that any properties can be set between these two actions.
My issue with ...

  • Re: Form submit (sharepoint & email)

Did you mean "if the submitted property is false," at the start of your post? Also I should've mentioned I've tried setting the property after the form is submitted to sharepoint but that didn't seem to work.  From what I understood, the property was being set after the file was saved to the sharepoint form ...

  • Form submit (sharepoint & email)

I'm using InfoPath 2007 and MOSS 2007 to setup a forms portal.  We're looking to provide form templates (running in InfoPath Forms Services within the browser) that the user can submit directly to a sharepoint library and also have the filled out form sent to them via email. So far I've established I need to have two data ...
