    SharePoint Site Content Types

    Hi,

We're working on a project to convert some web-based forms to InfoPath and are struggling with some deployment issues.

We're happy with the process for publishing the form templates to SharePoint and have decided to use site content types for this, publishing the form templates directly from within InfoPath designer.  We save the form templates within a form library and then provide links to this library for users to fill in the form.  The forms are then submitted to another form library within the same site.  Our templates don't have any managed code and only require domain trust, so this combined with the fact that we want the form designers to control the publishing process means we've gone for the site content type deployment method.

Now onto the question.  We've deployed several form templates to our internal test server and we're now wondering how we could move these published forms to the production environment.

Based on the research we've done so far, we've not seen any clear guidance for how this should be done for site content types.  We've experimented with "administrator approved form templates" and found we can move templates relatively easily by using centralised data connections.  However this isn't a viable option for us due to several other factors.  We believe we need to use site content types for this, but we're not sure how to move the templates once they've been published.  We're planning on converting a large batch of form templates initially and don't want to go through the publishing process for every environment we want to deploy to.

Is modifying the manifest.xsf either manually or using a script an option?  We've experimented with this approach as well, but the form doesn't seem to work when it's moved to the new server, we just get a "Form has been closed" error message.

Anybody been through this before?  Any ideas that might guide us along the way would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Has anybody got any ideas on this?
