    Error message!

    Hi there, hope everyones well.

I'm very new to InfoPath and have to learn it fast. In my work they have sharepoint 2003 and are using form libraries with Infopath.  People will submit the values via the infopath forms.  I've been checking a couple and came accross this error message:

    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
[0x80040E38][Microsoft Cursor Engine] Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read.

Does this mean the form values weren't submitted the first time or on a consecutive time? I'm not really sure what to do here.

Any help will be appreciated thanks

    Hi pablavo,

The error message you are getting is not because of SharePoint submit. It is related to Database, most probably SQL server.

Can you please verify once and provide more information so that we can resolve your issue.

Thanks for getting back to me santhoshp.

It certainly is a SQL Server 2005 backend.  The forms are for audits and are submitted by most managers. The values are entered into SQL Server and then reports drawen from that. I've noticed that the values that are in the infopath form with the error are showing in the reports (Reporting Services), so the values have gone in.

Let me know if you need more info, I'm not really sure what you would need to help.

EDIT: I've just found out that the person also went back into the form to change the one of the values and suspect that this is why the error has occured.  I'm not sure why it's doing this though? perhaps values are not allowed to be changed?

    Thanks
