    Control Postback Issues

I have an infopath form built that, when you submit the form, diplays the following message:

You have made changes to the form that have not been processed.  We will process the changes and show the form again.  After that you will have to click "Submit" again.

This is the first time I've run into this issue (even though I've only built an handful of forms, they have all been very similar).  I understand that I can go into the properties of each control and change the postback setttings to "always", however, this adversely affect performance, as the postbacks are rather slow when tabbing from control to control.  Is there any reason why I would get this message on this form and not on any previous forms (they just submit normally)?

     Any help would be appreciated.

Does this happen everytime you try submitting the form?

yeah, if any field on the form has changed, it will post that message.

Like I said, if I change all the controls to post back "always", it won't, because the latest data for each control will have already posted back.  But this is VERY slow.

I also tried to create a hidden control, and set that to postback always, and have a pre-submit rule change the contents to hopefully have it submit all the form data and avoid the message, but that didn't seem to work.

I'm at a loss as to why it would do that on this form in particular, and not others I've done.

How is your submit option set? Are you submitting to a SharePoint library?

You should probably keep all of your controls set to post back "only when neccessary" including your Submit button.

I had this same problem when I first started working with web enabled forms, and I am trying to remember what I had to do to fix it. If you havent already I would run the design checker.

it's set to fire a rule first (which adds text to the hidden text control i mentioned) then submit to a form library.

I have them set to only when neccessary right now, but that's what makes the "You have made changes to the form that have not been processed..." error pop up.

I dont know that I can be of any further help without seeing the form. It almost sounds like you may have a server side issue more so than within the form template. You may want to try checking all of your library's settings and then also make sure that all of your form setting are correct, ie the security settings.

Also you may want to try creating a new simple form using the same submit procedure and testing it to see if you get the same results.
