Commas Replaced With Underscores When Submitting To SharePoint Form Library For InfoPath 2007 Users

We have a problem where the majority of our users are on InfoPath 2003, but some are using InfoPath 2007.  We use a field called "Title" as the filename/key and it often contains commas and becomes something like "Smith, Joe - Employement Information.xml".  However if a InfoPath 2007 user open an existing form like "Smith, Joe - Employement Information.xml" and makes some changes then submits the form back to the form library it becomes "Smith_ Joe - Employement Information.xml" with every commas replaced by an underscore in the file name.  When the form is opened again you would see the form field still says ""Smith, Joe - Employement Information" but the replacement occurs on submission and only for InfoPath 2007 users.

This results in two duplicate items being created if users are not careful not to use commas.

Is there a way to allow commas to still be used for InfoPath 2007 users or to stop this behavior?

Hi Jonathan,By default InfoPath replaces commas with underscore in filename when we submit to sharepoint library.Replace the , with blank value. So that if the user gives the same name with commas in different positions then also the file name will be same.Use the following expression to replace , with bank value.

    translate(field1, ",", "")

here field1 -> Title fieldHope this will solve your problem.
