Hi all, 

I add a xml file into Infopath project. Now I want to update this xml file automatically when to open infopath form (.xsn file).

Any suggetions is appreciated.

In the process of taking the data connection for that xml, check the 'Automatically retrieve data when form is opened' check box at the end.

But my design is:
I add a XML file to Infopath project as datasource of Text Box controls. And I add some codes for updating this XML file by get Values from Database. Then I compile this project and get a .xsn file. Now when I open this Infopath Form Templete, I will get an exception and it cannot update this XML file.

I realy want to implement the Infopath offline function.
But I think it is unavailable. Because after I update this XML file included in form, I need to recompile this project. I mean we cannot modify those files included in form (.xsn file)

Hi, 

After getting the xml file, set the xml data to a hidden field(Say field1)  in main data source. Use that field when you open the form offline.

Thank you very much for your reply. But I still don't resolve my issue completely.

My developing environment is Infopath2003 + Visual Studio 2003. Your way looks like not to save this status when to close the Infopaht template. so when I open this template with offline I still cannot get these data.

Correct??
