    error to expose dataset from webservice

    Hello. I am trying to do a simple receive dataset webmethod to receive the schema for my infopath form. I first tried to do it based on a direct sql server 2005 database connection, but found out that infopath 2007 does not support image (ink picture) types from databases and I need to use a web service. That sucks, by the way. So I looked at msdn and found a simple receivedataset method but using VS 2003 and sqldata adapters. I am using VS 2005 and tried to modify it for the new typed datasets and tableadapters. However, when I run the code and invoke the method on my dev machine, I just get a HTTP 500 error. Here is all I am doing and it looks OK in winforms. I am new in this, so please can somebody help me.

    Thanks

    <WebMethod()> _

    Public Function ReceiveDataSet() As DataSet

    Me.ReferralTableAdapter1.Fill(Me.LlgaDataSet1.Referral)   'it bombs out here

    Return LlgaDataSet1

    End Function

    Re: error to expose dataset from webservice

    One more thing I forgot to add is that I do not want to retrieve any data for the infopath form. I only want to use the receive web method to get the schema for the form. I do not know if the above code is the best for this or not.

    I also have another dilemma. I cannot use a direct database connection to retrieve my schema because image type is not supported, so I need to use web services. Howerver, I read that web services or using an XSD schema has another issue: that int types cannot be blank in the form. (This is not a problem with database connections that can optional int types with null). The only solution I have read is to manually edit the XSD file to add the nil attribute or buy the Qdabra suite. Editing the  file is not reasonable for me, since I have over 1000 fields. The Qdabra would be great, but it is very expensive for my company. I am just so frustrated with this infopath stuff already.

    thanks
