Image and Picture Quality inside InfoPath 2003 Forms

Well, I am finally getting to put my Computer Science degree to work after nearly 10 years since I got it.  My current company does Production Test flights on business jet aircraft and we collect tons of data from the flights.  I am trying to produce an InfoPath form that will query an access database for the matching record and display the results of the test flight.  I have tried InfoPath but the pictures of the aircraft do not come out as clear as they do in Word.  I am shocked that the Microsoft Office suite doesn't display the images the same in all its software.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the graphics or resolution.  Otherwise, I would like to create a form that would retrieve the data and then submit that data to a Word template that contains the higher quality images.  Keep in mind that I would rather use the first option, I mean, I am dealing with pilots, its gotta be easy.  Thanks for any help or advice.

I havbe not encountered this but I am guessing these are high res images.

Are the images being embedded in the form or are you linking to them?

I would advise SQL over Access if this is going to be a production form for multiple users.

I would also recommend the Qdabra suite for webservices for SQL integration. This would allow the images to be databased as well.

    Clay,

Thanks for the response.  They are high res graphics (company logo and model picture, not specific to actual aircraft) and they seem to get fuzzy almost pixalated when they are cut from word and pasted into InfoPath.  The reason I am using this office suite is because that is what our company liscense is for and they is all they will let us have.  The first form I am using is for the data entry and the second form is for the flight test report with the included pictures.  Would it be better to link the pictures instead of embedding them?  Thanks again for any help you can provide.

Can you get the source images to use?

I would think that would be better than copy and paste from the word document, the whole copy of a copy thing.

Otherwise I think you should see equal performance as word. You can use an image control or inert an image depending on what you need.

I do have the source images and they look good while in the program but they print out on a much lesser quality.  The Word document that housed the original logos prints perfectly.  Does Infopath "auto" compress the images to save space?  I even tried linking to the picture and it sill prints out fuzzy.  Can Infopath collect data in a form and then spit that data to an existing Word template that houses the nice looking images and can that process be automated inside the Infopath form?

I am not an expert on the product to that level but images are converted to Base64.

You can use Word to print InfoPath Data, you should be able to find some examples.

One way is to house your data centrally then use Word to access that data in a template.

I think I am ready to have word print my form.  I don't some searches on here to setup a word print view, but I need to have an XSLT file in order to do it.  How do I create that from my existing word file.  Is there some program that will extract the XSLT from the word file and then I can tell infopath to use it.  Can you have an infopath form collect data and fill a word template with mapped fields?  The pictures don't look good in anything except word.  They look the same in all the other office applications (low quality) but some how word gets them to look better, sharper.
