Submitting to MSAccess database AND emailing to selected people

My first Infopath form works very well submitting to as Access database as well as retrieving info for the dropdown boxes from the same db. I would now like to add a second submit feature: After submitting to the db, I would like the option to email the form to one ore more people, and only then have a "clean" form displayed.  Is this possible without writing code (haven't yet learnt those tricks...)

    Sure.

Add another submit data connection for email.

Then you just need a field for the email address or pull them from your form or data.

You can add a rule to a button to submit the email DC and/or reset the form.

Thanks Clay - just what I needed.

Now another hiccup:  I get monthly stats from all my safety officers.  The form is divided into 2 sections:

Top section: Reporting date, SafOff Name, both on dropdown lists from secondary data tables in Access.

Bottom section: Company (dropdown from sec data table); staff complement, manhours, no of injuries.  This is a repeating table, and the data feeds correctly into the Access main data table.

On submission however, the reporting period and SafOff name is only sent to the database on the first line of data input; the other lines contain only the statistical data..  I would like the reporting period and the SafOff name to be on each line of data input.  Would that be possible?

    Hi Marianne.

I have been to Jo-burg twice, wish I lived there.

I think the issue is probably how you are updating the field.  If you set the value from outside of the repeating table it will set the same value for all records.

Best thing is to always create a data dump view.

Drag all fields onto it. Both Query and Data.

Then add some buttons to switch back and forth.

Use it to verify your data in the form periodically as you work through your main view and especially before submit to see what is happening behind the scenes with your data.

You may need to use filters or the current() function to make sure you are only updating the correct record rather than all.

Let me know what you find.
