    Adding Security/Permissions to InfoPath Controls

    I've created a Infopath form that has an Approve/Reject option.  The SharePoint library which would house the form has user groups for approvers and requestors.  I'd like to apply a permission to the approver group only to be able to see or complete the approve/reject options in the InfoPath form.  Is this possible.

    Typically there are two components for workflow.

    The form user and the form state.

    If you can get both of these you have what you need to perform the logic in the form.

    So ID the user and in Open Rules check the form state and based on this switch to the approver view or not.

    The approver view has everything read-only except the workflow controls. or whatever.

    I use an Active Directory Web Service to Identify the form user and also query their data stored in Active Directory especially department and manager.

    Re: Adding Security/Permissions to InfoPath Controls

    I was able to get the views working by applying the 1st view to a data source field that asks for a requestor email address and then setting the submit button to switch views upon clicking submit.  This works great but I'd like to send a read only html version of the form to the requestor and submit the form to the sharepoint library when the approver hits submit.  I'm using the following code for the first submit action for the html view but I don't know how to apply a data source to the To and Subject fields:

     {
    function OpenMailEnvelop(subject, to)
    {try
    { var oEnvelope = Application.ActiveWindow.MailEnvelope;
    oEnvelope.Subject = subject;
    oEnvelope.To = to;
    oEnvelope.Visible = true; return true;
    }
    catch(exception)
    {        return false;
    }
    }
    function CTRL83_5::OnClick(eventObj)
    {
    OpenMailEnvelop("subject concat datasource", "email datasource")
    }
    }

    The above code solves the problem of attaching the approvers version of the form which would include an active submit button.  I was originally trying to create a read only view that didn't have a submit button that would submit to the requestor but couldn't get it to work.  Is there a way to apply a data source from the form to the code above?
