    Filtering time sheet sp list

Hello. I have a sharepoint list for company project time sheets. People are using a infopath form to submit data to that list.

I need to create another infopath form to be able to filter that list.

Here is a screen shot of the list.

Now, i need an infopath form which will be able to query and filter from that list. For example in one form, i need people to chose employeename, start date, end date after that form should list all the jobs that selected employee worked on between the dates that were chosen.should use repating tables for that. I tried to use it but i couldnt filter it. can you show me a way to start please...

    thank you

    Hey Eray.

A SharePoint list or library cannot be queried dynamically.

The data connection will load all data and then you must use a filter to only display what you need.

So I would put the data into a repeating table. Add three fields for name, sdate, edate.

Use conditional formatting on your repeating table which only displays the records where name =employeename, and date is greater than sdate and less the edate.

Thx for your answer. However i dont understand how to filter that data by using conditional formatting. I tried to set it up like below but it didnt work. Repeating table shows everything instead of filtering. Actually using conditional formatting really didnt make any sense to me.

That looks right, from your screen shot.

You would check hide control.  It is hard to see your comparisons, you may need to reverse them to hide everything but what matches your criteria.

Hide just hides the row where your conditions are true, not all rows or the whole control. You can also try adding a shading rather than hide to test, then you can see all data and the rows caught by the condition.

There are numerous blogs and threads on this site regarding filtered cascading dropdowns. You don't want conditional formatting. What you want is filtering of the dropdowns. Go to Greg's blog and search for "filter cascading dropdowns" or "current()" and you should find some stuff. If you have thousands of rows in SharePoint, you'll want to add code to filter dynamically or use a Web service like our DBXL to do the same thing without code. Cheers!
