    Service unavailable

    Hi guys,

    I've abandoned my previous setup installation as I was told that support for X64 server is not there yet. So what I did was to install Qdabra on a remote sql db server got the error mentioned.Installation sequence: Since this was an SQL server not a web server, IIS was never there but .Net Framework was installed I think together with SQL 2005 when we did the farm for MOSS 2007. SPSv3 and web server in one box and Database server on another. So before installing Qdabra, I installed the IIS from windows component then I saw two versions of ASP.net.  This error was from Qdabra.  Error initializing DBXL database.The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable.There are two versions of ASP.net  v1.1.4322 and v2.0.50727.  What could the implication of this?

     Waiting to hear from you. Thanks

    Since IIS was installed after the .NET Framework v2 had already been installed, you will need to register the .NET Framework with IIS using the following command:

    \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

    You should see something like the following output:

    Finished installing ASP.NET (2.0.50727)

    After runnint this utility, you can run the DBXL install.

    You indicated from your email that the following error was showing in the eventlog:

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

    {A9E69610-B80D-11D0-B9B9-00A0C922E750}

     to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20).

    This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    Based on a little research, this can be caused by IIS being installed after service packs on the base OS.  The fix is to apply service packs again (or use Windows Update) to make sure IIS binaries are in sync with the rest of the OS.
