Save form in Document library and using formula as file name

    Hello all,

I have a form in InfoPath with a Submit button so when i press on it, it saves the form in a document library.

    So far, all's good.

I chose in the Data Connection that the file name will be the Date field of the form.

So when i press on submit, i see a new file name called: 02-01-2008.xsn.

    GOODIE!

Now, i want to add another field to the file name.

for example, i have a customer name field too.

So i want the file name to be saved as: 02-01-2008,customer name.

The problem is that i couldn't find how to seperate those fields.

Does anyone know anything of how to do it?

    Thanks in advace.

    Tal Winter

    Hey Tal.

You want to use the concat function.  Concat(Date, ",", customer)

Although I would recommend a different seperating character than a comma. I would use a dash or underscore.

    Hi guys,

I just found this thread in a Google search and i figured i should post my question here as it is the exact issue i am dealing with atm.

I have created a form in Info Path 2010 that i want to auto name itself upon hitting a "submit" button.
I want the name to include info from 3 fields:
    Name
    Date From
    Date To

I have been able to do this using concat, but the output looks like this:
    Name15-08-201115-09-2011

I want to make it look like this:
    Name_15-08-2011_15-09-2011

Or anything else to put a space between the 3 fields.

The formula i am using is this:
    concat(Name, Date_From, Date_To)

Now following on from the suggestion in this post i tried a formula like this:
    concat(Name, "_" Date_From, "_" Date_To) but i get errors.
    I have also tried:
    concat(Name, "." Date_From, "." Date_To)
    concat(Name, "," Date_From, "," Date_To)

I have also tried with no spaces, only one space (on either side) and without the quotation marks, but i still get errors.

    What am i doing wrong?

    Ah, nevermind, i got it!

I was missing the comma after the "

    concat(Name, "_", Date_From, "_", Date_To)
