    Custom Reports

    Hi guys

    I've got the following equation:

Got a bunch of fields, from ClientName, ClientFax, TaskCode, ClientID, etc. as well as a field called Satus which has two values, either Resolved or Unresolved for work purposes.

I am able to get submit and receive info to and from the db.

But now, what I want to try and do is the following:

Put the Status Field and Query it so that if Status is "unresolved" and I click Query it must bring up (show) all the Clients in my db which work is unresolved, or similarly if status is "resolved" and I click Query it must show all the Clients in my db which work is resolved....how can I go about this?

I did try drag the Status Field from the Query Side into my form, and then placed all the rest of the Fields (which I dragged from data side) below it and then previewed my form and clicked "qeury" but nothing happens. I also then tried putting custom code and rules on the query button so that MyFields "Status" = "unresolved" but still it did not work.

    What am I missing?

From a New or Blank form I would try putting unresolved into the "query side" status field. Make sure none of the other query fields are populated. Running the Query should then give you all data that is set to unresolved.
If you are running the query then wanting to get unresolved data you may need to clear the query fields you have used previously. (reset the Query before running it again)
It may require setting up another new form linked to your database data connection for testing purposes and drag all the fields into it to better understand the query mechanism.

    Thanks Clayfox.

I still cannot get it working...

I do run a query on a different form....from where I have a drop-down list and then select a value and then click query and it displays info.

However, now I have made the default value for a textbox, in the query side, on a different form "unresolved" and put the rest of my fields ie. client name, number, email, problem description, etc in the data side.

When I preview the form and click "run query" it still doesnt display the unresolved work.

It gives me an error which I experienced in the past, but got it worked out saying "the specified query did not return any data...."

    OBVIOUSLY....

    Some more pointers please....?
