    Duplicate <xsf:editing></xsf:editing>

    hy,

When i save an inforpath form, its size has expanded.

When i look inside manifest.xml, i see that infopath has duplicated the  <xsf:editing></xsf:editing> with the default values in many view.

     So the file size grows.

What is the role of this tag ?

When i suppress this tag, the size decreases and my form works also !!

thank you and sorry for my english.

Something is definitely wrong. There should only be a single <xsf:editing/> node per <xsf:view/>. If you have more than one per view, this is wrong--and bad. I can't say what might be causing it. It would be helpful to be able to track down exactly what is causing the insertion of an additional editing tag. If it is as simple as making a change and saving, and a new one appears, then perhaps we can get the Microsoft InfoPath team to take a look at your template to figure out what is happening. They need a solid repro case in order to do so.

I've personally never experienced what you describe. If you can come up with a solid repro, then first see if you can repro in a new blank form template (staring from scratch). If you can repro there--then there might be a problem with your InfoPath installation. If not, then get in contact with me if your willing to submit your form template to the Microsoft InfoPath team to review what's going on with it.

In fact, i have no more than one <xsf:editing></xsf:editing> per view. But this tag was empty in some views. Simply <xsf:editing></xsf:editing>.

At one time , the content of this tag has been duplicated in many views. What is the use of this tag ?

    Re: Duplicate <xsf:editing></xsf:editing>

Then it sounds like you are okay.

Each view can have exactly one <xsf:editing/> element. Inside this is stored information about the fields in your view and how you specify for those fields to behave. So for example, if you want to turn on/off spell-checking for a field, that is stored in there.

If your different views have the same fields in it, then you would see similar content in each <xsf:editing/> element.
