Clay,

The condition for my rule is...txt_RelmNumber (text box field) does not match custom pattern: AAAAA

The action is....txt_RelmName = @RELM_ID[concat(txt_RelmNumber, "  ")= @RELM_ID]

Where....txt_RelmName is the value that the rule set's (on the form)   @RELM_ID and @RELM_NME are values from the underlying query, and txt_RelmNumber is the value that the user enters into the textbox.

I think for what you have the condition should be txt_RelmNumber matches AAAA that way you get the particular scenario you want.  With not AAAAA you get everything from 1 character to 4.

For that you would append one space.

You would need a = AAA and append two spaces and so on.
