    Linking two fields together

    Hello,

I have a form that is connected to an sql database.  I needed to create three cascading dropdowns for my form so I followed a tutorial here to add a group and then add/create the three fields in the group.  However, upon creating those fields and they work fine, when I full out my form and save it, the info. in those three fields are not stored in my sql database, as I created them directly within Infopath.  The fieldnames are (Division, Department and Cost Centres).  Is there a way I can create a rule to store the values in these new fields in fields stored in the database once the form is saved.  So although the original fields are not on the form, but they are in the data source, can I create a rule to say on save - let division equal to the fieldname for division in the sql dbase, so that data will be stored there, and the same rules for department and cost centres...?  I really would prefer a rule than to have to try to create the cascading on these fields cause the current cascade works perfect and I do not want to amend it..  Thanks for any assistance.

That is where you need the Database Accelerator to save this information back to SQL. Secondary Data Connections can not be submitted except as web services. You can create a database type form from scratch but then you are limited to data fields which are already in the table and can only have one group of related tables. With DBXL you can query and submit to multiple tables. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer
