Dataconnection problem with ntext and image field

    Hi,

I'm using InfoPath 2007 and SQL Server 2005. Trying to design a page in Infopath using datasource. The table consists of some ntext and image type data field. When this table is selected in the Data Connection Wizard, it does not enable the Submit button. The following message is displayed. Submit Status: Not allowed - One or more of the columns in the data source has a large binary data type such as text, ntext, hyperlink, or image. Large binary data types are not supported. When I deselect these fields, the submit button is enabled. Does this mean, I cant select an image field in the form.

Alternatively, I'm looking to design a single form for data entry form (to add records to the database) and also a file selector control which will allow me to select an image file. For the data entry part, I'm using the 'Repeating table' control. Question is how to bind the 'File selector' control along with the repeating table control. If the above problem is not understood, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Kalpana.  InfoPath and SQL are the specialty around here.

A limitation with the default, basic InfoPath Database support is no large data types.

You need to look at the Database Accelerator, which is a package of web services that allow you to query and submit to multiple tables, and use large data types. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer

Are you going to keep the hyperlink to the image or store the actual image in SQL? You can do both with the Database Accelerator. I think your issue is that as you load your data from the table you need to transfer it to fields in your form, which would include a field and control for the image. Then when you save the form these fields can be extracted back.
