InfoPath Dev

 Hi,

 I am editing a template via the template link in Sharepoint and trying to add some code to the form. It seems that the form has previously included some code and cannot find it (I am trying to edit it on another PC to the one it was created on). My understanding from the original author is that he never actually included any meaningful code, but rather simply fired up VSTA and saved the form again.

 The error I get when trying to launch VSTA is...

"InfoPath cannot start Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications.

 The Visual Basic or C# project for this form template cannot be found.

 To locate the project yourself, click Browse."

My question is this, can I remove the old code project from the .xsn file and start afresh? It seems that unless I completely start from scratch I won't be able to add code to this form.

It looks like you're using InfoPath 2007... it's pretty easy to remove code using it:

1. Design your form

2. Tools | Form Options

3. Programming

4. Select the "Remove code" button

Done!

What if previous code was having some relevant code and I want to modify the same code.

How can I open that code?

In Infopath 2007, open the form in Design mode and go to Tools -> Form Options

Click on Programming and at the bottom is the location of the code project file.

Then on the other computer you want to work on, copy that whole template folder over and then navigate back to the Progamming form options.

Browse to the folder you copied over, select the project file, click ok, and BAM.
