Is it possiable to stop the web page just saying "FORM CLOSED" when you click on the close button. Can you write some code somewhere that will redirect the user to where the opened the form from?

I am not sure if you can do it easily but if you host InfoPath in a custom ASPX page than this post outlines how to do it:
