    Custom Task Pane question

    This is a bit off topic but I'd appreciate soome help here.
    I have created a custom task pane with buttons to switch views "on click"

    Works ok using the html submit feature, only problem is I cant seem to be able to size the submit button. Anyone know if this can be done or is there a better way other than use "Submit"?

    HTML snippet as follows:

    	           <tr>
    <td>
    <input type="submit" value="Customer Info." onclick="changeViewCustInfo();">
    </td>
    <tr>

    You should be able to size it with inline CSS if nothing else, check this out:

    <input type="submit" value="Hello" style=" width:5px; height:500px;" />

    Many thanks for this but unfortunatly it didnt work :-(

    If I insert style=" width:5px; height:500px after the value= statement I get a blank html page.
    If I add style=" width:5px; height:500px at the end of the line I get errors?

    Re: Custom Task Pane question

    Hi guys,

    5px for width of a button is awfully small...I doubt you would be able to see even the first letter of "Hello"!

    Don't know if that is causing some issues with this, but thought I would throw it out there!

    Re: Custom Task Pane question

    5px was just for example's sake :) Kind of like "Foo Bar"

    Check out this page for full reference on the INPUT element:http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/forms.html#h-17.4

    I'm not sure if you can use CSS for custom task panes, I'll ask around.

    Re: Custom Task Pane question

    Ted was right 5px was to small!

    I increased the width to 100px and I can see the buttons all the same width now however, the buttons no longer work.

    My origional html code is:
    <input type="submit" value="Customer Info" onclick="changeViewCustInfo();">

    This works, but the button widths fit the value text.

    Using:
     <input type="submit" value="Customer Info" style=" width:120px; height:500px onclick="changeViewCustInfo();">

    My buttons are all 120px wide but the 'onclick' attribute no longer works.

    I tried:
     <input type="submit" value="Customer Info" onclick="changeViewCustInfo() style=" width:120px; height:500px;">

    But this produced script errors.

    any ideas?

    Re: Custom Task Pane question

    Your quotes are in the wrong places on the last two:

    <input type="submit" value="Customer Info" style=" width:120px; height:500px;" onclick="changeViewCustInfo();">

    <input type="submit" value="Customer Info" onclick="changeViewCustInfo();" style=" width:120px; height:500px;">

    Check out the following HowTo for adding CSS to custom task panes:
    http://infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?i=a396459320204261ad2379381824683d

    I'm kind of getting the feeling that you want to change the style of the button when it is clicked, but to do this you will have to access the HTML object model from within your changeViewCustInfo() button. Is this what you're trying to do?

    Re: Custom Task Pane question

    This is perfect, thanks for setting me straight on the syntax. Actual values I ended up using were:
    width:110px; height:30px

    I dont want to change the style, just get the submit buttons to appear all the same size.

    Many thanks for your help and patence.
