Problem being faced by the InfoPath application in accessing the web service.

    Hello All,

I have an InfoPath application that is trying to access a web service from a different location. The web service is returning the users from the Active Directory based on a search string that is going to be passed to the web service as a parameter from InfoPath.

The problem is that , when i make a data connection to receive data from the web service, in the data connection wizard, i need to enter the URL of the web service. That's working fine. I can see the web methods of the web service also. But, when i select the required web service i.e. ReturnUsers(name) which has a parameter "name" that is gonna be passed by InfoPath as the search string to the web service. When i set a sample value for the "name" and say "Next", i get this error :

" Infopath either cannot connect to the data source or the service has timed out"

    Can somebody help ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anandhi_nandakumar,

This is a generic error message and could mean many different things - lost connectivity, unsupported web service, etc. Do you know what the encoding for the Web service is? Our AD Web Service works fine and has the same functionality. It's only $20. Check out http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/ADWebService.aspx
