Way to validate that an attachment is uploaded?

    InfoPath 2003

I am trying to ensure that if a user selects a checkbox he/she attaches an approval email doc within the form.  If no approval is attached I want a validation error to result.  Is there anyway to validate that an attachment exists?  "Can not be blank" within the Attachment control will not work becuase I only want the validation to occur if the dependent checkbox is selected.

    Hi Sharksfan,

You can do this with a custom data validation on the attachment node.  Double-click the node in the Data Source task pane, go to Data Validation tab, and then add a rule that is true when:

    "Attachment node is blank" AND

    "Checkbox is true"

Now, add a custom error message and you should be good to go!

Thanks a ton Matt!  It worked like a charm.
