    Drop down list problems

    Hi there,

    I'm experimenting several strange problems concerning drop down lists using rules which fill some textboxes around. For information, the lists get their datas from XML data connections.

    When i use these drop down lists in an extensible table, I noticed that, after having inserted a random amount of elements, the list bugs, and shows me what I selected the line above, even if I chose another value.

    At this time, it didn't seem to refresh the textboxes anymore if i change the value contained in the list. The only way to get it work back is to close the runtime and re-open it, which is, as you can guess, quite annoying.

    I would like to know if you had ever encoutered this problem, or at least heard of it, and by this way if you had found any suitable solution for this :/

    Thanks,
    NiK.

    Re: Drop down list problems

    Hi NiK and welcome to our forum!
    I have not heard of this problem. What do you mean by "extensible table"? How big is the table? What is the XML structure of the external XML data connection? What version of InfoPath are you using?

    Re: Drop down list problems

    Thank you for this answer, I'll try to answer the best way I can (as you certainly noticed, English is not my home language :))

    By "Extensible table", i mean the control used when you have some repetitive items in your data source and you need to represent it as a table. You can insert/delete element using this control. I don't really know how it's actually translated in US-version, sorry :/

    The size of the table has nothing to do with my problem because as i said the thread above, it bugs randomly when adding element (it often happens at the 2nd one).

    Concerning the XML structure, it looks very simple, like this :
    <root>
    <node1/>
    <node2/>
    <node3/>
    </root>

    Finally, i'm using InfoPath 2003 SP1 (i get the same problem when using SP2).

    Hoping it was clear enough :/

    Thanks,
    NiK

    By having a deeper reading on the threads of this section, i noticed the following user is getting a similar problem to mine :

    Maybe related ?

    It does sound like the same issue. I've replied on the other topic thread with a potential solution.
