Submitting a Repeating Section to Web Service

Hi Newbie question here hope I can explain,

    For example I have

. a secondary data source named 'UserInfo'
    . under this I have myFields/dataFields/d_tableUserInfo
. and under this @UserInfoName @UserInfoCode and a few more

. in a repeating section I am listing @UserInfoName and @UserInfoCode (set to read only)

when the user clicked Edit they can edit the fields

when they Save I want the button to sumbit to a web service that runs an UPDATE stored proc or something like that

My question is, if I am passing the webservice @UserInfoName and @UserInfoCode how can I let it know which specific record to Update. I am using C# in my webservice currently but it doesn't matter what language you use for a response. Thank you ahead of time for any help you can give.

    Thank you!

Hi BonsaiGuy and welcome to our forum! (I know you have 18 posts and you are already an old-timer, but I haven't welcomed you before, so please excuse the initiation).

So, you need to connect to a DB which is hard to do with InfoPath forms. We have a Database Accelerator product (eval is free) that allows you to do this quite easily and without code. Tons of features and it's cheap for the development version and the eval is utterly free.

My suggestion would be to use that for now - it will save you time. Otherwise, you have to write a bunch of code and hassle with the limitations of InfoPath and doing datatype transforms and lock synchronization and permissions, etc. Easier just to get our gap-filler tool and your life is easy.
