Hi,

1. I have submit/retrieve data connection as a main data source using webservices.
2. After save data to sql table(using submit webservices) then i send xml document to sharepoint site library.

my sql table has a id field identity. this field is showing in my infopath as a datafield readonly.

Problem:

After execute my submit webservice my:id datafield in IP stay without value. How i can to return sent data to my main DataSource to recovery the id(identity value) in my Infopath document.
Something is happened because i lost connection too and after to submit i cant make any changes to my infopath.

Someone have or had this problem?

How do you work with retrieve/submit webservice using sql table with a identity field that you need retrieve to IP after submiting data.
Any advise?

Hi Fred,

Maybe you could try to adapt to your case a solution posted a few month ago by Rick Severson from MS:
1. OnLoad, submit to SQL to get a new record and autonumer
2. When this returns, the new autonumber will show in the form
3. Have the user fill out the fields and then do a submit to update that
record with the new data

but, i have some doubts, first how i could get a new autonumber if my submit send data not retrieve.
second what happened if in step 3 the user dont do it submit.
do u have the solution posted by rick severson i need details. thanks franck
