    Infopath GUID Generation

Dear Forum users - for anyone who could give me a hint:

I'm using infopath with a SQL Server backend. I hve GUID values as identifiers in the database tables.

How can I generate GUID values with Infopath when saving a new recordset in the database?

    Thank you for any help.

If you are using .NET managed code you generate in C# or .NET within your InfoPath form. Another obtion would be to create a webserivce that generates a GUID that your InfoPath form can call.

    Re: Infopath GUID Generation

You could have SQL Server assign the values when records are added. You can use a uniqueidentifier column and mark it as the RowGuid, which will get a default using the NEWID function).

If you need to create the guid from Infopath, you can create a new guid using C# or VB with System.Guid.NewGuid()
