Hello,

I actually try to create a sharepoint content type using infopath 2007
client. My form is correct, and valid for web. But when i try to publish it and promote approximatively 50 fields the operation failed with the following message : "Updating the site content type failed".

With a form with 10 fields the promotion works.

Is there a limitation with number of promoted fields ?

I believe there is. I'm not sure what the various limits are.

I suspect there is an overall limit to the total number of promoted fields. But I do know that there are limits to the number of fields of a particular type... i.e. you can only promote X integer fields, Y date fields, and Z string fields.

Again, I'm not sure what those limits are, but I know they've been discussed before.

I believe there is a limit to how many number of columns you can have in SharePoint 2003
