Is it possible to update a specific sharepoint column (and not a field on the infopath form which has been promoted as a property) on form submit. If Yes, how? I want to have status dropdown column (type - choice)on the sharepoint form libraray and want to update the value of this field everytime form gets submitted / approved / request closed etc.
Inofpath form has been published to and also gets submitted to this form library.

Add a field in your data source which you want to add as a specific share point column
Don#%92t drag this control in to your form.

Now, while navigating through the publishing steps, you will come across the “Column Name” with Add, Remove and Modify buttons.

Click on Add button, and select a field from the data source, which you want to add as a specific share point column.

Now click on Finish.

Doing this you can update a specific share point column on form submit.

You can only show the current status of the form, but you cannot have drop down column in share point form library.

I'm using InfoPath 2007 and MOSS 2007.

 I have created an Infopath form with a submit button for our sharepoint server.

I have published it there with a site content type and including several columns for the document library from the form.

I have created a forms library and a results library on the server

and created the additional columns in the results library.

When I fill out the form, the instance domcument goes into the results library as expected,

but the columns do not get populated.

Somewhere I have seen a screen on the server which shows no source for the columns.

Do I need to tell the server that they come from the form?  How?

(can't anything be easy?????)
