Hide Section or View based on User being in a SharePoint group or an Active Directory Group within a SharePoint group

Anyone using SharePoint 2013 and InfoPath 2013 and successfully used the below solution to hide either a view/section: https://claytoncobb.com/2009/07/19/infopath-user-roles-in-browser-enabled-forms-using-groups/ I saw some comments that it was working in SharePoint 2010 which I'm currently on but will be migrating to SharePoint 2013 in the coming weeks and then SharePoint 2016 shortly thereafter. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I think as long as SharePoint is set to allow you to query the user profile service in browser forms, this should still work. GetCommonMemberships is available in the user profile service in SharePoint Online still, so it seems like it would still be in 2013 / 2016.
