    sharepoint interpret wrong infopath document

    To understand the problem follow this scenario:

    1.I did create a table: Products on sql server with 2 fields:
    idproduct and product

    2.i did a webservice to retreive7submit data to my sql table.

    3.i did an infopath document with a submit/receive webservice(step 2) and bind to the webservice above and then set it up.

    4.In the publishing wizard set up to send the document on a new document library of a sharepoint site in this step when the wizard asks you for the fields to publish choose each one and then choose a function that will be use on repeating data: "Merge" for each one.(This is very important step)

    5.I run the form and query over idproduct parameter of an existing product on sql table and i click send.
    My for will be send to my sql table and to sharepoint library.

    Well, u can see really what is the PROBLEM!!.

    6.Go to the sharepoint library documents check on the view the document sent before u can look how the row is repeating with the same values twice.

    maybe problem radicates on the xml diffgram format that the webservice back to infopath, but i would like to hear comments about this and how i can to solve that.

    thanx

    I have not run into this problem.

    Altough would you mind clarifying "then choose a function that will be use on repeating data: "Merge" for each one.(This is very important step)" in step 4 in your scenario.

    Thanks.

    Sure, and thanks vt, look:
    When you publish a IP form to sharepoint library, you need run a wizard publishing from IP. One of the steps of this process is identfy what fields do you want to see on sharepoint views and in this same step(a window selection) after you select the field you need specify the fuction to use to publish for repeating data.
    this fuction can be: First,Count,Merge,etc.
    When you select Merge then repeating data items will be see on sharepoint (all items) but if you select First for example then you only see the first item.

    the problem here is, if you choose Merge and on the repeating data only we have one item then sharepoint must show one item, but it does not happen, sharepoint shows twice the same item.
    I been searching why? and is because the IP xml have a diffgram format and this format holds two versions of dataset and for this reason sharepoint shows twice the data. Thats is the problem.

    comments or some idea to solve this?
    this is a bug between infopath using wservices and sharepoint document library?

    Hi Fred,
    IP XML has a diffgram format? Where did you hear that? The property promotion doesn't. But, maybe I'm missing something. Check out the xpath in your manifest.xsf and see what it is *really* promoting. The XSF has a section for the columns promoted to SharePoint and under that section is the xpath and aggregation function (for example, merge). Can you paste that into your reply?

    Re: sharepoint interpret wrong infopath document

    Patrick, here is:

    <xsf:listProperties>
    <xsf:fields>
    <xsf:field name="idoriginador" columnName="{50012CEA-2179-43A4-A3B5-4D696412C86C}" node="/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/ns2:RetrieveDataResponse/ns2:RetrieveDataResult/NewDataSet/Originadores/idoriginador" type="xsd:int" aggregation="first"></xsf:field>

    <xsf:field name="clave" columnName="{E49032A5-24D8-48FD-B1EF-CC284D3A2174}" node="/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/ns2:RetrieveDataResponse/ns2:RetrieveDataResult/NewDataSet/Originadores/clave" type="xsd:string" aggregation="first"></xsf:field>

    <xsf:field name="Asistentes" columnName="{8E5E1FE0-C0AE-4E6F-9FC1-3123EABDFBE3}" node="/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/ns2:RetrieveDataResponse/ns2:RetrieveDataResult/NewDataSet/Originadores/AsistenciaJunta/Asistentes" type="xsd:string" aggregation="merge"></xsf:field>
    </xsf:fields>
    </xsf:listProperties>

    REALLY, i see the xml diffgram format when i open the xml(saved by IP) with a notepad and see its structure.
    I think the problem is not in the promoting datafields of xsf but rather in sharepoint when interpreting this diffgram xml.
    I like to hear what do you think?

    Re: sharepoint interpret wrong infopath document

    If u save to a local folder a ip form xml from sharepoint library and then open this xml file with wordpad for example u will see a diffgram format inside, using two row versions or datasets versions.
    For this cause sharepoint read a duplicate dataset on xml file.
    How to fix that?
