Good morning all, newbie here I'm afraid with potentially a mundane question. Fairly new to developing Infopath forms and at work have been tasked with creating an electronic handover sheet, which i've managed to do without issues. The problem occurs with the submit button. So when Submit is clicked the form should email the oncoming shift person and also create the document in the form library with a date_time_filename. The email part works no problem however for some reason the creation on the document is hit and miss, sometimes it will sometimes it won't and error out. When I go back into form designer the publishing area and data connection reverts to a different area for example: http://domain/team/site/shift_handovers/ to http://domain/team/site yet i've not actually changed anything on the form. Does anyone have any idea why this is doing this as its preventing me from rolling out the form to the shift workers? Many thanks for you help :)

When there is an error, what's the error message? Any useful info there?

Unfortunately not, just saying it's written to the error log with a code which i don't have access to (using Google its sort of a generic error) as it's a work computer.

If you aren't using SharePoint online, you might want to have your SharePoint admins take a look at the ULS logs - I think since the error is intermittent it may be pretty hard to track down without additional info.

It is sharepoint online we're using (apologies should have mentioned that), would that make a difference?

Sort of - it just means you can't have an admin go look at the logs, unfortunately. So - it sounds like some of the time your submit to the library works and sometimes it doesn't. Does it matter if it is a new form or if you are opening and editing an existing form? Feel free to attach a copy of your template to a reply (under the options tab) if you'd like me to take a quick look at the logic.
