I have 2 Lists in sharepoint (i.e. Parent & Child) which have Parent-Child relation using lookup column. New Item forms of both the lists are customized in InfoPath Dev. In sharepoint for Parent List 'New Item' form is created as 'Infopath form WebPart1' where i have added another WebPart of type ' List or library' where Child List's New Item form is configured. (Note Child list New form is in Repeating table format). The AIM is to add New Item in both Parent and Child list using single sharepoint form. Here all works fine except one issue.
On form, first I click on Submit button on Parent WebPart where it creates a new record in Parent List and also displays latest ID from Parent List. I expect once this ID is displayed it should be passed to WebPart-2 where Child List New Item form is configured. To achieve this i have added (in customized form in InfoPath) a Rule on ID field of Parent webpart when it contents value it should send data to webpart. Also in sharepoint i have configued both the webParts to send and receive data (Parent webpart as Provider and Child webpart as consumer) however it does not send any data on Child WebPart.
Can anyone suggest any solution?
