 I am trying to find out if there is a way to set a rule in InfoPath 2013 to open Outlook but not submit the form. Basically I need to have a rule on a button so that when clicked it will open an Outlook email that I can send a custom message in. Can anyone help?

 Is there a way to do this without a code? I don't have the ability to use the code editor in InfoPath.

If you have to open a new mail message and not send it, you will have to use code. However, if typing the custom message into your InfoPath form is an allowable work around, you could just put all the stuff you don't want in the email in a separate section (or use multiple views if this is a browser form) and hide things you don't want to have in the email.

 Okay I will see if I can get it to work some how. It is becoming frustrating I have will email you the form you can take a look at it.

Since your form is a SharePoint List form, it's a browser form. You could add a button to switch views, let the user enter their message there, and then send the email from that view and switch back to the main view. Code can't be added to a list form.

 So I would need to create a view of the form that is not linked to the list form have the form switch to the email view and the switch back to the normal view correct?

Yeah, that's what I'd try. I have done this in browser forms - but not in list forms. So you may run into other issues. But it is simple & quick to try, given your requirements.
