Condition in default values recalculated fields

     Dear All,

I have a "field5" in repeating table with following default value:  concat(now(), "-", LoggedOnUser) (it's set to refresh after recalculate )

Each time I save the form and open it it's updating the dates.

I tried to disable   "refresh after recalculate" but it does not help.

I would like to set in the "default value" that if in the "field5" there  is a content, to not update it and if it's empty to update it with the actual date.

I tried some solutions from this forum but It's too unclear for me.

    Can you Help ?

    Thank you,

You could set a rule on the repeating table group itself to populate field5 - that would handle for any new rows added by the user. Then you'd just either have to change the default data to not include a row by default, or have a rule on form load to set the initial value.... Or is there some other field in the repeating table the user enters data in that you could set the rule on? I would definitely use rules instead of a default here.
