Different values in SP list and infopath display form

    Hi all,

I'm having a strange issue with an InfoPath form and a Sharepoint 2013 list.

When I enter data for the first time using InfoPath form online, values are correctly stored in the list , but when I open my item (or try edit it)  drop-down menus do not show the value that I can read from the list view, they show the default value (which I set using the Control tools>Properties>Default value option). Is there any way to change this behavior (I still want the default value when I enter a new item for the first time)?

Change the field to not have a default. Add a Form Load rule (under the data tab in the ribbon) to set the field to your desired default if it is blank....

Hilary, thanks a lot for your reply! :)

That partially solved the issue, the problem is that I have a repeating section. Using your method, the default value is set only for the first item, but when I insert a new section the default value is not set.

Add a rule on the repeating group to set the field. It will set it when a new section is inserted.
