InfoPath 2010 populate fields based on drop down list selection but not saved in main data source just fyi

I am trying to create an fyi section in which the user can select a course code or course title from a drop down list. The fyi section fills in the default values of the Program Manager, Course Manager, Primary Location and Duration so the user can compare this with suggested course/class changes. The rest of the fields are populating correctly. I have tried to set up the rule, connections and filters, but the only one that populates is the duration, but it is not populating with the correct information. The fyi fields will not be saved to main data source

Your FYI fields are bound to the query fields in your secondary data source - and one is bound to the main data source. I think you need to bind all of them to the data fields in the secondary data source. See attached revision.

I would probably modify the secondary data connection to not query on load, but to query when the user selects a course code. Then you can set the course code query field, run the query, and you would only have data returned for that course.
