InfoPath Dev

Hello,

I have this code where I am trying to retrieve the field value from my form and I am getting an error. Do you see anything wrong with it? I am new to java script, so please bear with me!

var JobName = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("my:JobName").text;

The error says object required.

You need to give the field XPath should be correct. Can you check once again XPath of the your field.

I thought my:JobName was the XPath. If not, is there a way to find it?

Finding of XPath of the field you could open the template.xml and you can prepare of your xpath from root node with the separation of slash "/".

Ther is an other way. Open up the template in design mode. Then right click the field you want and choose "Copy XPath".

Hope it helps...

However, this only works with InfoPath 2007 :) I usually look at the data source task pane to construct XPaths - don't forget those namespaces!
