DOB Concat in Infopath -> Sharepoint

    Good Morning All,

I have an infopath 2013 form, that has 3 drop down lists for DOB (Month/Day/Year).

On the submitt button of my form there is a 'Set a fields value' action:

    Field: Age

    Value: Age = concat(DOBMonth, "/", DOBDay, "/", DOBYear)

When i execute my initial form, with any date selections (from the drop downs), the field in Sharepoint returns a 'false' entry.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, am i missing something, is there a cardinal rule i should be following in regards to the drop down data itself?

    Many Thanks

You need to make sure that the date is the correct format, I am assuming it is all numbers and matches the format for date in SharePoint?

The value for month is numerical with the corresponding month 'name' as Display name. Year is in YYYY format.

I have been advised the format should be MM/DD/YYYY which is the method i have used in the submit formula

Are your day and month fields keeping (or adding) leading zeros if required? If the leading zero is dropped for the day or month then the field won't evaluate correctly.

The way i have entered the list in the infoapth drop downs is singular for 1-9 then carrying on 10+ in the same way for both day & month values.

Should the singular values be 01, 02, 03 etc etc?

It definitely needs the leading 0 for a date format type field. However, doing a little more experimentation and it seems that the concatination causes a problem as it converts the data to a text type which date won't accept. I haven't managed to convert it back to date successfully yet.
