Urgent Issue: Error Mapping Existing Forms to manually updated XML

    Hi All,

We are working on pretty complex InfoPath form which contains 150+ fields. Based on new requirements, we added few sections containing repeating tables with default data of multiple rows (using default values feature). To make sure that existing forms get these repeating table values correctly we wrote a PowerShell script to update the existing forms (xml files) directly. This is done so that when an existing form is opened data should get properly mapped. But unfortunately only few repeating tables are showing the correct data and other repeating tables are showing only first record multiple times. This is working for new forms exactly the way we expect.

We tried to download the xml file and updating the changed xml section from new form xml but it still does not work and shows the same issue. But when we open the existing form, save it, download it and then change the xml with xml from new form, it works. Somehow when we open existing forms, the mapping is not correct.

Please guide me on this issue. Appreciate your help.

Please let me know if I need to provide more details.

    Thanks,

    Rahul Babar

So - in general, I'd think if the form template was set to automatically upgrade existing XML, the rows would have been added to the XML when re-opened with the updated form - was that not working? Is that why you used PowerShell to update the XML? Can you compare an XML file that isn't showing what you'd expect in the tables with one that does? Do the XML that show the first record multiple times have the correct values in the XML if you take a look in a text editor?

    Thanks for the quick response.

We had tried not to update using powershell. With that new form was populating all the repeating table rows properly.

But the existing forms were loading only first row values in multiple rows. Before opening and saving the existing form, if I look at the XML, it looks proper but after opening & saving the existing form, it show duplicate rows.

    Thanks,
