I have a form the has a secondary repeating table. When the user opens the form they are presented with a dropdown list and must select and ID#. I have a rule setup for it to then query the data associated with that ID from a SharePoint list.

Once the form is submitted it is put through a workflow and other users need to view the information that is in the repeating table.

The problem is once the form is submitted and another person opens the form, the data from the repating table is reset and blank.

Is this supposed to happen? Is there a way I can make the repeating table not reset when the form is edited?

Hi tplee and thanks for posting!

Secondary data sources are not preserved with the XML so you will have to save the information in a separate field and add logic to use that field to set the value from the dropdown when the form is opened. In other words, you can add an on load form rule that sets the value of the drop down to the field of the saved value.
