I am new to Infopath and does not have much programming background. I have bunch of XML data source files which I can open using Infopath 2010 and see the field labels and field values. For example, label is "State:" and the value is "CA". XML data source has dates, complex tables, groups, radio buttons, check boxes, free form text and so on. I also have associated XSN file which XML data source file is referring to. From online forums, I got to know that I can change the extension of xsn file to a cab extension and unzip the cab file. After unzipping the cab file, I could see that it had buch of other files such as xsl, xml, xsd, etc. When I open XML data source file in text mode, I find field83 has value "CA". When I try to find what is field83 in the files extracted from XSN, I found that one of the XSL file has field83 and it has a <div> element which has text "State:".
All I need is a flat report (may be a CSV or Excel file will do) which gives me field label (for example "State:") and the data value ("CA") only where the data values are present. I don't require fields which are empty. Or if it is too complex, then I can filter on non-empty fields. Optionally if I can get XPATH of the mapping field name that is even better (For example, /my:myFields/my:field83) Optional fieldname is just for tracking purpose. And this should work on all data types such as groups, tables, radio buttons, etc. For radio button / check boxes, I don't want selection values such as 1 or 2, but more meaningful as what was checked by user.
Having described kinda weird requirement, I need a quick help in order to generate these reports for bunch of xml data source files and associated xsn files. Any simple and automated way will be really helpful. If Infopath has some mechnism to export label and data values into Excel, that would be awesome. Looking forward to get some quick and easy ways from all you experts !
Thanks in advance !
