Over the past few months, we have been experiencing a few users who seem to have the integration with IE and InfoPath Filler get broken. What happens is that when they click a link to open a blank form from SharePoint 2010, they get a blank IE window. Basically, SharePoint is trying to launch the form in the browser (based on the URL). We can run a repair on Office and it will fix the issue, but after a few weeks, it comes back. We are on IE10 or higher and use compatibility mode. I cannot replicate the problem. Two users specifically have had this issue multiple times. We can't figure out what's go on. Thoughts?

Can you share the URL that appears in the blank IE window that opens?  There are several query parameters that SharePoint uses to determine how to open InfoPath forms from links, and I am wondering if somehow the wrong parameters are appearing...can you compare the blank IE URL with the URL that appears when the form opens correctly?

When the form opens correctly, it opens in the InfoPath Filler client. When it doesn't open correclty, the URL is: http://server/hr/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=%2fhr%2fDeptDocs%2fPCN-NewHireReHire.xsn&Source=http%3a%2f%2fserver%2fhr%2fPages%2fForms.aspx Remember, this only happens for certain people when it appears the integration with Office 2010 and IE are broken.
