How do I create a view like this in InfoPath 2007?

I've been having an issue with a coupe of the forms that I've inherited in that they are not updating to the latest number. The 'max' function is used to query a number from the library and then increment it by 1. The problem is that it isn't working and I think it has to do with the number of items in the library. I found this here and think it may work to solve the problem but I am not quite sure how to go about doing it. This is the link: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d470328a-6a65-4730-8e74-7aa4a444faf8/infopath-maxid-data-connection-to-sharepoint-2007-list-not-updating?forum=sharepointcustomizationlegacy It is the last paragraph in the first and approved answer. Here is a copy and paste of the answer: QUOTE: One other tidbit is to create a view that only shows the last few submitted forms so that your query only pulls in a few items for retrieving the current form's ID. You don't want to query the entire form library, so create a view that has an Item Limit of 5 (or whatever you're comfortable with) and sort it in descending order by the Created field. That way, you are guaranteed to always have the correct ID for the current form, and there is never a guess. END QUOTE So how do I create a view to do that? For whatever reason it is not registering.
