    Display Name instead of Value

Hi,  I am using InfoPath 2010.  My scenario, I have about 8 drop-down fields, called "Scores" with choices 1-5 as display numbers,  each display number represents a value, example 1(display name) = 0.67(value), 2= 1.34, so forth and so on.  I am trying display the  display name instead of the value.  Also once that is done there is "Total Score" field that I would like to capture the values of the 8 fields and run a formula on that total score to return "Total Score" this time displaying the "Value".   ( We have different values for the different fields, which are actual questions a Project Team Committee will determine the score based on the request submitted, not sure if this particular information is relevant. )

    )Here is an example

    Field 1 = Score 1 value 0.67

    Field 2 = Score 1 value 1.33

    Field 3 = Score 1 value 1.00

    Field 4 = Score 2 value 3.34

    Field 5 = Score 5 value 5.00

    Field 6 = Score 2 value 1.34

    Field 7 = Score 1 value 1.67

    Field 8 = Score 4 value 6.68

    Total Score =  0.67 + 1.33 + 1.00 + 3.34 + 5.00 + 1.34 + 1.67 + 6.68  / 13.667 =  1.54 (rounding up)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Display Name instead of Value

I was able to achieve my scenario by creating four SharePoint custom list with two columns, one for Score (1) one for Score Value ( 0.67).  Then in the InfoPath form Drop-Down List Box Properties I chose "Get choices from an external data source" and chose Receive Data from the custom list. I made sure I selected to promote "Score & Score Value".  Then to achieve my goal, back on the drop-down list box properties under "value" I selected "Score Value" under "display name" I selected "Score".

I appreciate this forum because I pieced it together from here and from a InfoPath Tutorial that someone wanting to achieve "Presenter" drop-down list for a meeting agenda InfoPath form.  By using both of these Iwas able to achieve my goal.

Thanks to everyone on this site.  I am a newbie to InfoPath, but little by little I am becoming more familiar.

    Cheers,
    BJ
