Help with forms on Sharepoint 2010

    Hello All,

I am trying to simplfy our process for users to submit forms such as New Hire request form or New Equipment request. My issue is that I am creating these forms on infopath 2010 and not all users have infopath. Is there away to create forms in infopath and publish them as html? Or does any have any suggestions on the besty way to do this?

    Hi,

You can publish your form as a browser-enabled form in your SharePoint library - this is the best option for your SharePoint users who don't have InfoPath installed. They will be able to fill out forms in the browser. If you search for this topic on the web, you should be able to get lots of helpful results with detailed steps on how to browser-enable your InfoPath form. Let me know if you don't find any and I'd be happy to help further.

Re: Help with forms on Sharepoint 2010

This is exactly why I visited the forums today -- I have a question about this.

I've followed directions I found out there on the web. One of them suggested that in InfoPath 2010, I should go to File / Form Options / Compatibility, and with "Web Browser Form" listed in the dropdown, enter my SharePoint server URL to ensure that the form will work correctly in a web browser.

I did this, and I got the message "Could not verify the form template on the specified server."

    What might cause this?

Do I need to have a specific version of SharePoint in order to make this work? (We have SharePoint 2010 Standard). Or is there some other cause for this message?

I'm getting into these weeds because right now, even though I have the SharePoint library set to always open forms in a browser, they are still opening in InfoPath.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
