Hyperlinks in Duplicate Repeating Tables (when displayed in Browser)

    Hi - I'm using SP2010 and InfoPath2010.

I have a SharePoint list that has two columns: "Document Title" and "Link to Document". The "Link to Document" column if formated as, and contains, a hyperlink to the referenced document.

I have an InfoPath form connected to this list. I've created a repeating table to present the data (by 'pulling' the secondary data source onto my form). Within the repeating table, I've used the Insert Hyperlink function to present a clean looking link (setting the properties reference the "Link to Document" and the "Document Title" fields). I published this form to a SharePoint browser page (using the InfoPath form webpart).

So far, so good - everything works.

I want to create a second (identical) repeating table (I'm using different filters on each table). I copy/paste the oringal table into the InfoPath form. In preview, everything works fine: I have two identical tables. However, in the brower: I have one table that works, but the second table shows the same item in all rows (namely, the first item in the referenced SharePoint list).

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Rob,

This is a known issue in browser forms - hyperlinks added in a view multiple times bound to the same repeating group, displays the same value. One workaround is to create another data connection and bind your second repeating table to that. Hope it works for you.

Hi Mel - thanks for getting back to me. It's good to know (I suppose) that it's a known issue and not just me doing something wrong.

Thanks for the workaround - I'll give it a try. Another workaround that I discovered is to insert a picture into the repeating table (e.g., a "Download Arrow") next to a normal text box that contains the "Document Title". I then added a hyperlink to the picture that points to the "Link to Document" field. This seems to work - not a clean as having the Document title double as the hyperlink, but not too bad.

Sure thing! And yeah, pictures with hyperlinks should work too since you won't have issues with the 'display' texts. :)
