I can successfully query the user information list and get back, for example, first-name and last-name of a user, or any other of the available details. However it only seems to work if the user has been added to the subsite permissions directly/explicitly, rather than simplty inheriting permissions via membership of some group.
Is that by design, or am I missing something? I wonder if I simply need to give higher permissions to the group they're coming in on?
