Hello All,
I have a question that I have been trying to answer for sometime now and I am completely stuck and need some help. I have an Info Path '10 browser form that, upon submit gets sent to a SP '10 library. This form is data bound to XML files to populate Drop down list so the form doesn't need to updated. Everything in my forms and SP integration works fine but I would like to achieve the following:
I have several departments where users can request services from but all the departments have a minimum lead time time.
Example: BLDG Services require 4 days for all services.
I am trying to create a validation rule on a Date/Picker where if a date less than 4 days from today then the standard error appears.
This is a done deal if I hard code the value (4) in but this date can be changed anytime. So I have created a SP '10 list that holds all the lead time dates for all departments. That way I can just change the number of days on the list. What I am trying to do is create a hidden "whole number" field on my form to grab the number where the department = the department on the drop down list. Then have the validation rule for the date/time picker reference that hidden field.
So my rule would look like this:
hdnLeadTime [whole number] //example grabs a 4 from the SP list
Condition:
if Date/Time picker is less than addDays(now(), hdnLeadTime )
BAsically show a message if date selected is not more than 4 days from today.
I keep getting an error and this condition doesn't want to work. Has anyone tried this before and if so can you please provide me a possible solution. I have also tried calculation fields. I am basically stuck. Please let me know if you need more information. I can re post.
Thanks everyone.
