Not sure how to classify this one:
Scenario SharePoint 2010, Infopath (not browser-enabled)
Single form with around 150 fields on it (Proposals)
Will be creating a new view (Implementations) and will be copying over Most of the existing fields into new fields for the Implementation phase (view).
Rather than using the interface to recreate all 100 fields, can the Save as Source be used to get at the underlying XML, copy a whole section of the XML (into a new text editor where Find/Replace will be used to slightly alter the names (e.g. pSalesAccount to iSalesAccount) and then copy this back into the XML) to quickly generate this structure that when saved back as .XSN InfoPath will recognize and be able to use these the same as if we took the time to create these manually in the browser (a significant time savings).
Does that make sense?
So 2 questions:
1) has anyone done this?
2) If so what files did you have to modify to make this work?
Thanks in advance!
